Dear Bay Shore-Brightwaters Community,

It is clear that Spring has arrived in the Bay Shore-Brightwaters community, from the flowers blooming outside of our schools, to the fields filled with student athletes. It takes me back to my time as a Bay Shore student when Spring meant lacrosse games and final exams looming on the horizon. It is hard to believe that the school year is almost over.

Our talented students have again provided opportunities for the community to experience live theater with impressive performances. The Middle School Drama Club put on a wonderful production of Matilda, followed by the High School Drama Club’s magnificent staging of Children of Eden. I encourage everyone to attend one of the Spring Concerts our musicians are preparing to perform in the coming weeks.

The Bay Shore Spring Athletics season is off to a successful start, as well. Our new Girls Varsity Flag Football team has expanded the opportunities for student participation in athletics. You can stay informed with daily updates on scheduled games through our Íæż½ã½ã website and social media channels. Stay connected and join us in cheering on our Marauders this season.

Earlier this month, the National School Boards Association recognized our World Language Department with a Magna Award for its exceptional wELLcome to Bay Shore initiative. This program exemplifies the Department’s commitment to welcoming new English Language Learner families into the Íæż½ã½ã and providing them with valuable resources. We thank them for their dedication and congratulate them on this well-deserved  recognition.

As we approach the Spring Break, I hope you will take a moment to appreciate the changes that come with the new season. I wish each of you a happy, healthy, and safe recess with family and friends.

As always, thank you for your support of our students and Bay Shore Schools.

Sincerely,
